Day two, and today I visited Epcot. The main attraction here seems to be Spaceship Earth, and I must say it was impressive. It tells the story of human innovations from the very early days to today with a strong emphasis on how we can make a better future. I also convinced myself that I should do at least one (and I am sure it will be no more) ride. As I always wanted to go into space I sought mission:Space would be the right one to do. Well, I tell you it had my head spinning for the rest of the day 😂 they strap you in a very realistic space capsule that is mounted inside a huge centrifuge. Once the mission started, we were going to Mars, you feel the G forces from the centrifuge and it makes it all very real. Anyway, I had to do it so another tick in the box.

I was also in luck as the International Food & Wine Festival was taking place at the World Showcase area of the park. This section has representations from all over the world all filled with restaurants and gift shops. The French section also has Remy’s Ratatouille adventure, one I did and was so much fun (no spinning) but with 3D glasses, you go around in a little car shaped like a mouse and follow Remy (he is also a mouse for those who haven’t seen the movie but even better he is a French chef). You follow him around the restaurant but from his perspective. Very well done and I had a lot of fun.

Australia was also represented at the Food & Wine festival and I managed to get me real glass of Shiraz 😊. A quick note about food: I have my main meal at the park as the meals are huge and last me for the rest of the day, today I went to Le Cellier Steakhouse in the Canada sector. They served me one of the better steaks I had in a restaurant and the service (as it has been so far) was excellent.

Here are a few pictures of this day:

  1. Your background summary really captures your interest and excitement about this lifelong dream of yours Arno. Good for you for making it happen!! Great shots and glad that you enjoyed your Canadian Steak. Janet and I are looking forward to following your adventure!

  2. Super Arno. Lijkt me een byzondere sensatie die flight simulator.
Fijne trip verder en denk om het buikje ook al is het maar een keer per dag.

  3. As a wise man once said:

“The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.”

Reading the whole thing from the start, it reads like an amazing trip.
