Thursday 17 – 24 Oct
This week was a quick visit to the Netherlands to see family and friends. Arno spent a few days with his daughter Debbie and had a great time with the grand kids, while Jen went to see her side of the family. She joined us on Friday evening and we had a lovely dinner with Debbie, Dennis, Patty, Vincent, Sara and Noah. Arno also managed to visit the boat Dennis and Patty are working on. On Sunday we had a big gathering of Jen’s family hosted by Margot.
On Monday Arno and Debbie visited the Maurits house to see the Lady with the Pearl, Tuesday we visited Naturalis with the kids to admire their latest asset while Jen went to see Monique’s new house in Nijmegen.
Triceratops horridus: this giant herbivore is an icon of the dinosaur era. It is also extremely rare; only a handful of skeletons can be seen worldwide. Naturalis presents a blockbuster exhibition on Triceratops, featuring an entire herd. After more than a decade of excavation and preparation, the dinosaurs are exhibited together for the first time.
We caught up with as many people as we could squeeze in this week, and Arno managed to eat one of his favourite Dutch lunches (broodje kroket). Now on to our next adventure in Sweden and Denmark.
